We particularly need volunteers from the medical community including doctors, nurses,
midwives, laboratory technicians and people with social work and teaching
experience. Medical volunteers work closely with our doctors on patient reviews,
ward rounds and to educate the community on health issues. Placements generally
start from a month upwards.
Additionally, we need volunteers in
the following areas:
·
Community Outreach – to educate the community on health
programmes
·
Education – to teach in our school projects in rural
western Kenya
·
Event Planning – to promote our message, raise our
profile and get more people involved.
·
Fundraising – which impacts directly on our
ability to build capacity and respond to the needs of the local communities.
What we offer you:
We pick up volunteers from the airport on arrival and departure and
arrange free accommodation with a member of staff. We take volunteers on a Nairobi city tour to
visit the Kenya National Museum, Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, and
Ngong hills. We also can also arrange
for a one week safari to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru national parks with a tour
company with whom we have negotiated a 25% discount. Volunteers will also have
the opportunity of working in some of our other projects in rural Western
Kenya, Uganda or Tanzania.
If you would like to
inquire about current volunteer opportunities please e-mail
